Work Description:
Nocturno is an installation shaped through a multi-stage experimental process in which chemistry, botany, and alchemy converge. At its core is the Datura — a night-blooming plant of ambivalent nature, both medicinal and poisonous, sacred and fatal. Its alkaloids, extracted and transferred through screen printing onto chromatographic plates, perform their own ritual: separating, evaporating, and revealing fleeting words such as Death, Ceremony, Delirium, Delusion, and Witchcraft.
Each reaction lasts only seconds before disappearing, leaving behind a photographic trace — a visual fossil of transformation and decay. Through this ephemeral process, Nocturno becomes a study of transience and metamorphosis — a chemical poetry in which language dissolves, the plant thinks, and matter records the moment it ceases to exist.
